Download the DRS SQL Backup Recovery Tool. Install the application and run it as administrator.
Firstly, click on the Browse button or three dots icon to define the saving location of the temporary files.
Choose a specific location and click on the OK button to assign the location.
The software has two file scanning modes: Standard and Advanced. The Standard mode is for minor corruptions, while the Advanced mode helps recover highly corrupted files.
After that, click on the Browse button to select the BAK file you want to repair.
Locate and select the file. Press Open to add the file to the list.
If you have split SQL Backup files, opt for the Split Backup File option.
After that, press the Add Files button to add all the split backup files.
Locate the desired files. Select them all and press the Open button. Make sure all the split files should be in the correct order.
If you added all files in an incorrect sequence, you can change the order of files by Move Up and Move Down buttons.
Next, tick the Is Selected file Compressed option if your SQL backup file is compressed.
Click on the Browse button and choose a specific destination for the recovered items.
After that, click on the Extract Files button to proceed further.
Note: To save the recovered files, the location to save temporary files and resultant files should have free storage space 3 times the file size.
Now, a wizard will appear on the screen displaying some basic file details. Select the required entry and click on the OK button.
Next, the tool displays the backup file information and the resultant .mdf and .ldf file details.
At last, click on the Save button to save the recovered MDF and LDF files.
After successfully saving the resultant items, a confirmation message will appear on the screen. Click OK to close the pop-up.
