Four Methods You can try to fix “Invalid Image” Error

Convert the Image File Format

  • Open the image with Paint or Adobe Photoshop.
  • Go to File tab and click on Save As
  • In Save as Type column choose the format either .png or.bmp
  • Click on Save.

Now try to open the image and see whether the error is still occurring or not.

Unhide Extension of the file (if there is any)

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Click on Appearance and Personalization.
  • Select File Explorer
  • Click on View Tab then Click Show Hidden files and Folders
  • Uncheck Hide Extensions and click on Apply.

Now open the image file and I hope your error has been fixed.

Still your image is showing an invalid or unknown image file format then try the third method.

Open the image file with a Browser

  • Right click on the image file
  • Point the cursor on Open with option.
  • Click on the respective browser.

Once the image gets opened and displayed in front of you on the browser, you can save it from there. You can also take a screenshot of the image and save it in the JPEG format.
